Somatic practices supported me through one of the most difficult years of my life. I was overwhelmed, exhausted, and searching for something - anything - that could help me feel better. I began exploring simple, intuitive movements at home, and each time I practiced, I noticed a shift. I felt calmer, more grounded, and more like myself again.
At first, these movements felt unfamiliar as they are different from traditional yoga and I wasn’t sure how to share them. That curiosity led me to pursue formal training in somatic practices to deepen my understanding of why these methods are so effective for the nervous system and overall well-being.
I’m now honored to offer Somatic Flow at Wild Oak Wellness! What began as a personal healing practice has grown into a supportive and welcoming space. I invite you to come experience it for yourself and discover how it can help you feel.

When your nervous system feels safe, everything begins to soften. Your mind becomes clear your body more at ease, and life feels less like something to push through and more like something you can move with. This is where true healing and thriving begins.
Everything you’ve experienced is held somewhere within you. When you slow down and start to listen, your body begins to speak. In that space, you can reconnect with yourself in a deeper, more honest way.
What you feel emotionally often shows up in the body. This is called somatization. A tight chest, a racing heart, or a knot in your stomach aren’t problems to fix, but signals to gently pay attention to.
Over time, these patterns can shape how you move through the world. Through awareness, breath, and presence, you can begin to unwind them and create space for more ease, connection, and a sense of coming home to yourself.

Somatic Yoga RX - Saturday's 9:15 - 10:30am
Somatic Yoga Rx is your prescription for presence and deep reset. Taught by Dorene for over a decade, this signature class blends somatic practices, breath-centered movement, and anatomy informed sequencing to support nervous system regulation and release stored tension.
Rooted in both clinical insight and embodied experience, you’ll be guided through mindful, body-led movement and breathwork that help you slow down, tune in, and reconnect with your body, mind, and spirit in a way that feels safe and sustainable.
Somatic Flow- Sunday's 9:00 - 10:15am and Monday's 5:30 - 6:30pm
Somatic Flow is a dynamic, somatic-based practice designed to move energy through the body. Blending seated and standing variations of traditional yoga, this class incorporates spiraling, wave-like, and multidirectional movement patterns that help unwind habitual tension while supporting nervous system regulation.
Short, guided phases of rhythmic, holotropic-inspired breathwork are intentionally woven in to build heat, increase circulation, and deepen body awareness followed by grounding integration to help the body settle and absorb.
This is not a gentle class. Expect continuous movement, rotational sequencing, and strength based transitions that engage the whole system, leaving you feeling open, energized, and deeply connected to your body.
